Abstract:
Non-standard operation in governmental buildings (electricity mains are shut down outside work times) and random instabilities of electricity grid are serious challenges facing the technical and economic feasibility of rooftop grid– connected solar PV systems. This work investigates the performance degradation of a 24 kWp solar PV plant installed at a governmental building in Baghdad-Iraq for operation period from 2018 to 2023. The actual measured production data are compared to the predicted performance (from PVSYT 7.4.0) and analyzed statistically using IBM SPSS 27, EasyFit 5.6 Professional and time series tools to evaluate the system reliability under abnormal operation conditions. Such an investigation has not been cited in the literature.
