Abstract:
A new crystalline silicon-solar cell structure with thin base and low back recombination velocity has been investigated and the optimization of the cell performances has been carried out. All parameters are simultaneously adjusted, taking into account their constrained relationships. The two structure parameter values, base depth and back surface recombination velocity, are shown to be critical. The calculated display of the minority carrier distribution in the base helps to understand the high performances obtained with this new structure.
