Abstract:
Practical employment of organic photovoltaics (PV) depends on improving their stability and lifetime characteristics. To clarify degradation mechanisms of a novel class of PV media, solid films of poly[(2-methoxy-5-(2′-ethylhexyloxy)-1,4-phenylenevinylene] (MEH-PPV)/2,4,7-trinitro-fluorene-9-one (TNF) blends have been systematically studied by thermal analysis (thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), TMA), mass-spectral and vibrational spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR-FT Raman) methods. Merits of the MEH-PPV/TNF blends are communicated and discussed in comparison with those of the classic MEH-PPV/C60 system.
