Solar radiation applications for sustainable development—options and strategies for less developed economies

Renewable Energy, 1993, vol. 3, issue 4, 513-519
Abstract:
This paper reviews the state of the art of solar radiation application technologies that have potential for sustainable exploitation in the less developed economies (with particular reference to Africa) and discusses the constraints that have so far limited their exploitation. It suggests guidelines for choice between competing alternatives and reflects on possible strategies for the rational use of local energy resources at both national and regional levels.
