Abstract:
This research aims to demonstrate the possibility of utilizing renewable energy resources in Jordan, such as solar and wind in a hybrid system, to help in saving energycost by cutting down on fuel, which is considered to be the main source of energy. Based on data of both energy demands and renewable energy resources, solar and wind, that were collected and analysed during this work for a selected site, a suitable hybrid system comprising solar, wind and conventional energy sources was then suggested and investigated for this purpose. The utilization of such a system could cover a considerable portion of both electrical power and thermal energy demands and can be applied to similar conditions.
