Low wind speed wind generation scheme

W. Lawrence, D. Langridge and D. Johnston

Renewable Energy, 1994, vol. 4, issue 5, 489-494

Abstract: Conventional wind generators operating in widely fluctuating wind regimes suffer from low energy conversion efficiencies. In this paper a relatively simple scheme is described for increasing the power output of small wind-driven alternators at low wind speeds. Practical details of the implementation of the scheme are given, along with test results and economic justification.
