Environmental analysis of practical design options for enhanced geothermal systems (EGS) through life-cycle assessment

Martino Lacirignola and Isabelle Blanc

Renewable Energy, 2013, vol. 50, issue C, 901-914

Abstract: This study presents an analysis of the environmental performances of Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) located in central Europe based on life cycle assessment (LCA) of ten significant design options. Each of those is identified with a set of several technical parameters including the risk of induced seismicity.
