Photovoltaic system testing

R.L. Hammond and C.E. Backus

Renewable Energy, 1994, vol. 5, issue 1, 268-274

Abstract: Methodologies use to measure the field performance of photovoltaic modules and array are presented herein. Uncertainties related to the measurement of solar irradiance are discussed and techniques to reduce these uncertainties are presented. Measurement techniques for short-circuit current, open-circuit voltage, and peak-power are reviewed, as well as methods for translating data at actual test conditions to “standard test conditions”.
