Abstract: The paper discusses objectives and principles for building design, from the human comfort aspects, in regions with hot humid summers and mild winters. The issues discussed are: Building layout; Openings and ventilation; Orientation with respect to the sun and the wind; Thermal mass; Special problems in Hurricane regions.
