The status and prospects for wind energy
Ian Mays
Renewable Energy, 1996, vol. 8, issue 1, 29-33
Abstract:
This paper reviews developments in the utilisation of wind energy in Europe over the past decade, and examines the current status of the technology, its implementation and the growing industry in the sector. It further considers the potential that wind energy has to contribute towards our future energy supplies, its cost in comparison to other conventional forms of generation, environmental benefits and environmental and other issues which may prevent this potential from being fully realised.
