Renewable energies: An energy option for sustainable development

Abstract: Renewable energy resources can contribute to sustainable development, but important barriers impede the realisation of their potential. In this paper we analyse two significant obstacles in Latinamerica: technology assessment for disconnected energy systems and organisational structures.
