The forced circulation performance of a sun tracking parabolic concentrator collector

Said M.A. Ibrahim

Renewable Energy, 1996, vol. 9, issue 1, 568-571

Abstract: The experimental sun tracking collector consists of six parabolic troughs, of polished aluminum sheets of high reflectivity. The concentration ratio of each receiver is about 10. The receivers have one degree of freedom and they continuously track the sun through an angle of 180 degrees. The axes of the receivers are connected to a common lever mechanism which is connected to the rotating motor and the electronic tracking unit. Six riser tubes are fixed in the focal axes of the parabolic concentrators. The outlet and inlet of the collector are connected to a storage tank.
