Abstract:
In this paper, a methodological description for an estimation of wind energy resources is given, using a wind energy model in complex terrain. AIOLOS, a mass-consistent code, was utilised in order to draw a preliminary wind map of a region in the north-east of Algeria. The calculated results agree well with the measured values for only one station located on the coast among the two considered. For the second case, we note that the results given by the model are more realistic and more representative than those given by measurements which should be checked with attention.
