International Review of Economics & Finance, 2025, vol. 97, issue C

Abstract: Amidst the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic and growing uncertainties in the external environment, intelligent development has emerged as a crucial strategy for businesses to strengthen their ability to withstand external shocks and achieve sustainable growth. This paper examines the relationship between intelligent development and supply chain's resilience in manufacturing firms. Based on listed firms from 2011 to 2022, this paper adopts two-fixed model to explore the effects and underlying mechanisms. The findings indicate that intelligent development can effectively promote supply chain's resilience in manufacturing firms, and the impact is achieved by improving supply chain's efficiency, stimulating productivity effect and alleviating long-wipe effect. Heterogeneous analysis confirms that firms' ownership and industry nature play a critical role.
