O.R., Systems, and MOT: A professional memoir
Fred Phillips
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 2023, vol. 188, issue C
Abstract:
TF&SC's first two Editors-in-Chief were “reformed and recovering mathematicians” with firm orientations to system theory. Both Linstone and Phillips transitioned from operations research to technology management. The latter's career influences, detailed in this essay, add to previously published accounts of the Linstone-Phillips collaboration, helping to explain how Technological Forecasting & Social Change became what it is today.
