Abstract:
Although there are a great variety of transportation network design applications, there are important similarities across all transportation networks. These similarities permit the construction of a single, relatively simple, data structure that satisfies the needs of both graphics and algorithms. This paper describes how this data structure was implemented as the basis of the General Network Editor-- a program for graphical preparation of network data.
