Abstract: Since its independence Croatia is sort of prisoner of both free market ideology and New economy. Such a choice of economic strategy has finaly brought country to a stage of deindustrialization and complete import dependency concerning not only the level of consumption but that of standard of living of Croatian citizens and the level of available capital. Croatia is supposed to change the strategy for economic development in case she wants to preserve both economic and political sovereignity. Country should turn itslef towards production oriented society. Is such an change viable under the conditions of EU integration (Croatia will join in a year or two), and under process of globalizaiton of the world economy? We consider that under conditions of cybernetic neocolonialism (Stojanov,1984,2008), which prevails these days in the world economy, such a turnaround is hardly manageble.
