Abstract:
In the Northeastern region of Brazil, the labor force has been historically underutilized.Recent studies have shown that not only this underutilization is growing, but alsothe quality of work is not improving as well. This work has two objectives. On the one hand,it discusses how there is a close relationship between the production relations and the utilizationof the labor force, while on the other hand it debates the impacts of changes in theseproduction relations.
