Abstract:
The author characterizes the Brazilian economic crisis within the context ofthe present world economic situation based on an analysis utilizing the concept of theKondratieff economic cycle. He reaffirms the necessity to prioritize economic growth andindicates measures that could be taken for the reorientation of domestic production, the developmentof new financing mechanisms, and the redefinition of Brazil’s relationship withthe rest of the world, oriented not only in terms of managing the present crisis but also overcomingit.
