Determinants of Unemployment in Regency City in Special Province Yogyakarta

Abstract:
This study analyzed the determinants of unemployment in Special Province Yogyakarta (DIY), partially and simultaneously using panel data regression analysis with data from five regencies/city in DIY from 2010 to 2015. The results indicate that the wage partially has negative and significant impact to unemployment but population variables partially has positive and significant impact to unemployment of regencies/ city in DIY. Variables of education and economic growth partially do not have positive and significant effects for unemployment (UNEM) in DIY. Meanwhile simultaneously the variables Education (EDU), Wage (WG), Population (POP) and Economic Growth (EG) have a significant effect on the unemployment in DIY.
