 The Professional Training Qualification Process for Prison Service OfficersEdyta Kulawiecka and Zofia Marciniak European Research Studies Journal, 2024, vol. XXVII, issue Special B, 627-641 Abstract: Purpose: The article depicts the way the process of qualifying for professional training is perceived by the participants of the process. Design/Methodology/Approach: Theoretical methods: content analysis of the subject literature, normative documents and synthesis, but also empirical methods: diagnostic study made with the use of an interview technique, diagnostic study with a questionnaire technique, were both used in the paper. Findings: The conducted empirical studies reveal, that the process of qualifying the Prison Service officers for professional training is perceived by its participants in many different ways and needs improvement. Practical implications: Shortening the latency time through extending the entrance limit for training may significantly influence the mitigation of stress connected to work in the characterised formation and will let prepare the Prison Service Officers for professional duties much quicker. Originality/ value: Refinement directions have been indicated. They can be of an important value in improving the professional training qualification process for Prison Service Officers.
