Note: [English Title] Not available [English Abstract] This article discusses the future of world trade negotiations in the aftermath of the Seattle talks. lt gives first a brief histarical background of the multi-lateral trade negotiations up to the Uruguay Round (UR) and summarizes the arrangements pertaining to the agricultural issues in the UR agreement. Then it discusses the primary reasons for the collapse of the Seattle Conference. Lastly it speculates on the future of trade negotiations in general, agriculturalliberalization in particular.
