Note: [English Title] Not available [English Abstract] This article is concerned with the complex and diverse relationship between gender, careers and organisation. W e tried to explore the unseen barriers for career advancement of women employees who worked in a large-scale modern factory in Defence Industry, located in Ankara, Turkey. In order to explore the gendered processes and practices that shape women's career paths, we carried out a workplace survey and conducted in-depth interviews. We observed that there were informal barriers for women employees to climb career paths. Only a few women engineer jilled intermediate managerial positions and those women challenged their organizations in varied ways to cope with those barriers. [English Keywords] gender studies, labour market discrimination, glass ceiling, gendered organizations, gendered workplace, job segregation by sex
