Abstract: Our study aims to identify the role of the labelling of the Turkish young people in their family and group of friends on the symptoms of depression and deviant behaviors the adolescents display. As a result of the survey study conducted with a sample of 726 high school third grade students in Ankara, it has been determined that labelling is a triggering factor and that there are meaningful and strong relations between the labelling of the young person in the family and his inability to engage in interaction even with his intimate social circle, with his running away from home, his inclination to display deviant behaviors like substance addiction.
