Note: [English Title] Rent Seeking: A Study on the Rents Transferred by Agricultural Support Policies in the Turkish Agricultural Sector [English Abstract] The aim of this paper from economic perspective is to analyze the rents that are transfered by agricultural support policies, generated from social and political consideration. In this study first of all different economists and economic schools' approaches to the rent concept are examined and especially it is focused on the neoclassic rent seeking. Secondly, the importance of the agricultural sector is emphasized and the causes of goverment intervention into agricultural sector are considered. Then the efficiency of agricultural support policies is examined by calculating the rents that are transferred to agricultural sector. [English Keywords] Not available
