Note: [English Title] MEDIA ECONOMICS [English Abstract] Economists are being faced with new conditions mainly due to rapid developments in the world economy. The difference between the characteristics of the products of information industry and the products of manufacturing and services, their unusual features in production, distribution, cost and financing require new definitions for their economic effects. Recent years have witnessed drastic changes in the definitions of export and import, capital flows, finance, communication and even company in the economical sense. The need for requisitioning of these definitions, which are formed within the new rules of the world trade, is obviously accompanied with streams of studies. In this environment, as one of the important components of the information industry, the media has been subjected to economic analysis in the recent years. The new and strong role of the media in the economy established the fundamentals for the development of these studies, which have been accelerated especially after 1980's.
