Integration of Energy Production Enterprises into Digital Service Sector: Senkron Energy Case Study within the Framework of SWOT Matrix

Abstract:
The aim of the research is to reveal the integration process of energy production companies into the digital service sector. For this purpose, the establishment of a new company focused on digital services from a company providing energy production services was examined and the roadmap followed in the process was determined. In the research, an exploratory case analysis was conducted for Senkron Energy Company in light of the theoretical framework. Data were obtained by conducting an in-depth interview with a senior manager through a semi-structured interview form. The obtained data was classified and interpreted based on the theoretical framework and generalizable findings were reached. It was determined that especially ensuring cultural harmony was a critical element in the adaptation process to digital services. In addition, it was determined that in order to realize digital services, increasing performance to the highest level in all areas related to the main business line, providing all conditions in financial and infrastructure issues and creating strategies accordingly were the basic elements. Senkron Energy SWOT matrix was revealed. Issues such as reaching the digital maturity level, cooperation, new formation, strong leadership, and new markets were determined as Senkron Energy's strengths and opportunities. In this respect, it is expected that this exploratory research will contribute to the literature and businesses in the digitalization process by guiding startups.
