Abstract:
The importance of the female labor force for the country's economy in achieving sustainable growth is quite significant. In the new world economic order, the contribution of women's employment to the country's welfare level in labor markets is becoming more and more important every day. It is noteworthy that the relationship between the increase in women's employment in the labor markets and economic growth is directly proportional for countries. The concept of economic growth and development is a multidimensional phenomenon that includes cultural, social, and economic elements. For this reason, the study examined the variables that particularly affect women's employment in the world and Turkey and the effects of women's labor force on economic growth. In the study, the place of women in labor markets and the relationship between women’s labor force and economic growth were evaluated with tables and graphs created by using data obtained from official websites of different institutions. The results obtained from the study show that economic growth increases with the increase in the female workforce.
