Abstract:
The Locally Rotationally Symmetric (LRS) Bianchi type I cosmological model with variable modified Chaplygin gas having the equation of state ð ‘ = ð ´ ð œŒ − ð µ / 𠜌 ð ›¼ , where 0 ≤ ð ›¼ ≤ 1 , ð ´ is a positive constant, and ð µ is a positive function of the average-scale factor ð ‘Ž ( ð ‘¡ ) of the universe (i.e., ð µ = ð µ ( ð ‘Ž ) ) has been studied. It is shown that the equation of state of the variable modified Chaplygin gas interpolates from radiation-dominated era to quintessence-dominated era. The statefinder diagnostic pair (i.e., { ð ‘Ÿ , ð ‘ } parameter) is adopted to characterize different phases of the universe.
