Abstract:
"Employers and employees negotiate on wages and working conditions, while centralised bargaining agreements and the Industrial Constitution Act provide both sides with an institutional framework for this. But fewer and fewer businesses are taking advantage of this opportunity of dealing with conflicts of interest under such a stable roof. Newly set up businesses in the east of Germany in particular prefer to act outside the structure of centralised wage agreements." (Authors' abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
