Abstract:
"Germany will not be able to get by in future without qualified immigration if it wishes to maintain its economic position. At the same time, however, free movement of services in the EU brings with it the danger that German companies will soon have to compete with foreign companies, especially in relatively work-intensive branches of the economy which pay substandard wages. A minimum wage can prevent a downwards spiral in wages and is in the interest of both employers and employees." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
