Abstract:
"The growing number of people commuting to work to Germany from abroad contains an additional potential for skilled workers for companies near the border. Today border commuters from Western Europe are overridingly working in economic sectors with a high demand of skilled workers. One fifth of the East European border commuters on the other hand is working, often with temporary contracts, in the temporary employment industry. Four out of ten additional temporary workers in East Germany are border commuters of adjacent Eastern European countries." (Author's abstract, IAB-Doku) ((en))
