Abstract: "In order to learn more about the situation of refugees in Germany, and how it develops, a representative longitudinal survey has been launched in 2016: the IAB-BAMF-SOEP Survey of Refugees. The study partners include the Institute for Employment Research (IAB), the Research Center of the Federal Office of Migrants and Refugees (BAMF-FZ) and the Socio-economic Panel (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin). The results of the second survey wave from 2017 have now been published in a current IAB-Kurzbericht (short report). Herbert Brücker and Yuliya Kosyakova, senior researchers at the IAB, who co-authored the Kurzbericht are themselves surprised by some of the results, as they reveal in an interview with the IAB Forum editing team."
