Abstract:
The present paper intends to highlight the impact of projects dedicated to the rural areas from the West Region of Romania, in the context of sustainable development, raising stakeholders’ awareness in the implementation of European funded projects, which, approached with eagerness and professionalism, would respond to the institutional development needs and at the same time would implement a series of changes that are absolutely necessary and important for the rural area progress. Therefore, following our analysis, we tried to find the causes of the low absorption level of funds devoted to the Romanian rural area from the West Region (NRDP in particular), the deficiencies that have to be retrieved in the process of implementing these projects, as well as the solutions to the problems highlighted following the analysis made together with a group of consultants in EU funding.
