Analysis of Rhetorical Device---Repetition in “The Killersâ€

Abstract: "The Killer" is known for its concise style, but has many repetitions in this short story, including words, phrases, and sentences. The repetition and concise style seems contradictory, but actually shows that Ernest Hemingway's unique narrative skills. This paper discusses how repetitive rhetoric plays an irreplaceable role in depicting characters and conveying themes.
