Using Cooperative Strategic Reading (CSR) Model for Developing English Reading Skill of the Students in Thailand

Abstract: The objective of this study was to develop the reading comprehension skills of students majoring in English at the Faculty of Education, Lampang Rajabhat University, using the Cooperative Strategy Reading (CSR) instructional model. The sample group consisted of 54 third-year English major students enrolled in the first semester of the academic year 2024, selected through purposive sampling. The research instruments included- 1) the lesson plan, consisting of five plans, and 2) the post-test used for data collection. The research findings revealed that the 54 students achieved an average score of 23.49, which corresponds to 78.30%, with a standard deviation of 4.28, which met the hypothesis set by the researcher.
