Abstract: With the rapid advancement of Internet technologies and the growing emphasis on ideological and political education (IPE) in higher education, College English teaching is facing both challenges and new opportunities. This study takes the lesson “The Shadowland of Dreams” from the College English Reading and Writing course as a case study to explore how IPE can be effectively integrated into College English instruction within the context of the “Internet Plus” era. Grounded in the TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) framework, the study examines existing problems and limitations in the current implementation of IPE and proposes practical pathways for integrating information technology with value-oriented education. It also reflects on innovative approaches to the teaching model, teaching materials, and evaluation mechanisms. This study finds that the Internet-based platforms in the “Internet Plus” era empower IPE in College English teaching, not only facilitating reforms in teaching models but also providing new perspectives and practical strategies for updating course content and constructing a more comprehensive evaluation system.
