Abstract: This study has explored the relationships between the dimensions of organisational flexible work arrangements (FWA) and the directionality of work-family conflict. In addition, the study has also focused on the organisational strategy based on flexible policy to mitigate work-family conflict. A cross-sectional design with a self-administrated questionnaire was adopted to collect data from 313 academics of private universities in Bangladesh. However, to explore the research observations and findings of this study, both descriptive and inferential statistics were used. The researchers found that the specific form of flexibility (flex-time and flex-place) and the directions of work-family conflict (work to family conflict and family to work conflict) make the difference in their effects though the overall effects are small in magnitude. If top management and higher authority of private universities want to arrange FWA policy for their academics they can use the findings of the study.
