Abstract:
The present study examines how the international operations of new ventures evolve over time as a result of the actions of the cross-national establishment teams. As a starting point, we notice a limited understanding of the individual level behaviours and the related team dynamics in the extant international entrepreneurship research. Through a longitudinal case study approach, the entrepreneurial behaviours and team dynamics in a Finnish-Sri Lankan high tech venture over its establishment process in Sri Lanka are examined. The study illustrates the changing memberships, roles and responsibilities of the involved individuals and their intertwinedness with the venture development. As an end-result, the study calls for further research on the earliest developments in the pre-establishment and pre-launch periods of the ventures and the informal and periodical memberships in the entrepreneurial establishment teams.
