Abstract:
The paper examines the link between the interorganisational trust and enterprise innovativeness by incorporating the focus on core competencies into the model of relationship between two mentioned variables. On the basis of data coming from 108 of Polish enterprises, a test of mediation is used to prove that interorganisational trust causes enterprise innovativeness indirectly by enabling the focus on core competencies as well as directly due to the creation and transfer of knowledge between collaborating parties. These two direct and indirect mechanisms explain sufficiently how interorganisational trust facilitates innovativeness due to knowledge acquisition and assimilation.
