Role of information in the process of effective management of the university

Abstract:
The changes that affect higher education enforce certain market behaviour with education providers. Improving the efficiency of university management is mindful of both the competitiveness and market requirements - environment. The role of information in this regard is huge. Her skilful collection, insightful analysis and effective treatment is important for the university, which wants to have a high position in the market of educational services. This article aims to clarify the concept of information and its place in the chain of management, to characterise its basic characteristics, types, discussion of the role of information in the process of university management, demonstrating significant differences between information and information technology and to discuss the structure of the flow of information on the example of the Technical University of Czestochowa.
