Nguyen Danh Nguyen and Nguyen Dang Tue

International Journal of Innovation and Learning, 2020, vol. 28, issue 1, 82-97

Abstract: Which factors determine research and development outcomes of a university is a great concern of both government officials and university managers in Vietnam and many other countries. This study is conducted to test the hypotheses that research infrastructure, management, communication, human resource, financial source and faculty's ability are the main determinants of university R%D outcomes. The study applies structural equation modelling method and uses a unique survey data collected from faculty staff in 115 science and technology universities in Vietnam. The study findings show that infrastructure and financial constraints are two factors that significantly affect faculty's R%D outcomes. According to that, the authors proposed some policy suggestions.
