Abstract:
The current study sought to develop and evaluate a model for the formation of source analysis competence by future history teachers. The authors developed a methodological model for the formation of source competence of future history teachers based on the structuring method and assessed. Comparative analysis of the data of the diagnostic survey conducted based on the authors' questionnaire and the final control showed a significant increase in the level of formation of the source competence of the respondents in the experimental group. The current study suggests that modern history teachers are unprepared to use source analysis effectively during the educational process. The methodology developed by the authors to assess the level of formation of source competence may be useful in personnel competitions and professional hiring selection. The study opens prospects for new research in the field of professional development and effectiveness of history teachers.
