Abstract:
The present study is motivated by the implementation of lean production systems in manufacturing organisations. A questionnaire has been prepared and results from 188 small and medium-sized organisations in India have been received. On the basis of the reviewed literature, major barriers, and the driving factors which influence the success of the lean production system are identified and studied. On the basis of received results, the major success factors, and the barriers in the implementation of the lean production systems have been identified. Cronbach alpha value has been calculated and further, the multiple regression test has been applied on all major success factors and the barriers of the lean production system.
