As reported by Robison in A History of Naval Tactics (Robison, Rear Adm S. S. [U.S. Navy (Ret)], Robison, Mary L. 1942. A history of naval tactics from 1530 to 1930 . U.S. Naval Institute, Annapolis.), the Naval Institute Prize for 1905 was awarded to Rear Admiral (then Commander) Bradley A. Fiske for an essay titled “American Naval Policy”.
