Abstract:
In this paper we have developed an iterative process for obtaining, in a stratified sampling design, optimum allocation of the total sample to the various strata in order to secure minimum variance at a given cost and, at the same time, provide strata estimates with variabilities not exceeding specified levels. The process has been illustrated and generalized. The application of the extended procedure has been discussed.
