Abstract:
Herein we are concerned with the following situation. A server processes similar items in order of their arrival. The service time is exponentially distributed, however, the mean varies randomly with time and depends upon the state the server as in. Approximate expressions are derived for pertinent parameters---for example, the mean queue length and the mean time spent in each state by the server.
