Abstract:
An idealized model of a battle is formulated and analyzed enabling the efficiency of the intelligence and command and control systems to be quantitatively related to firepower and numerical strength. The analysis is based on a pair of differential equations analogous to Lanchester's equations. Some indicative numerical results are given that show that an increase in the efficiency of an intelligence and command and control system can be equivalent to a substantial increase in numerical strength.
