Abstract:
An experiment is described for training operations-research students in actual problem solving. The students are given real life problems in their raw form and are asked to work out practical solutions with some help and advice from a supervising teacher. This training complements the usual one given in the form of lectures, seminars, thesis writing, and case studies. It is intended to produce a problem-oriented attitude among the students.
