Abstract:
This paper generalizes, by the use of compound distributions, a result of Haight (Haight, F. A. 1966. A Poisson generalization based on counts that are delayed but not lost. Opns. Res. 14 943–945.) on counts that are delayed but not lost. An application of Markov chains indicates a simple method of numerical evaluation of the distributions involved. Finally a continuous time analogue is studied.
